● A-Mei Chang = Chang Hui Mei
From Taitung, Eastern Taiwan
An Aboriginal Taiwanese singer also known by her Aboriginal name of Gulilai Amit. Massively popular and successful since her debut in 1996. Sings rock/pop and Mandopop. Sometimes called "the Pride of Taiwan".
Won the MTV Asia award "Favorite Artist: Taiwan" in 2004.



 

● Emil Wakin Chau
Has released over 40 albums since 1985 - including many platinum ones. About half are in Mandarin, the rest in Cantonese and English.
Born in Hong Kong, but has lived most of career in Taiwan.
A top star for two decades, not only in Asia but around the world.


 
● Sarah Chen
Had a string of hits in the late 1980's and early 1990s and still popular despite her retirement from the business.


 
● Cherry Boom
All-Girl alternative rock band from Taiwan


 
● Chyi Chin
Singer-Songwriter from Taichung, Taiwan.
Chyi Chin began his music career in the 1980s. He likes to separate his music into two distinct periods. The Wolf period, named after his hit single "Wolf" in 1985, and the Deer period, post 1992, when he converted to Buddhism.

● Chyi Yu
Taiwanese Singer and older sister to Chyi Chin (above).
● Jay Chou
A highly individual Musician, Songwriter, Composer and Singer who has won the World Music Award 4 times and sold over 25 million albums worldwide. Jay Chou's pop, rock and R&B styles fuse Chinese and Western music.
Has written songs for a multitude of Taiwanese stars including Jolin Tsai, Valen Hsu and Leehom Wang.
Jay Chou grew up in Linkou, Taiwan and presents a positive youth image as a quiet individual who neither smokes nor drinks.


 
● Steve Chou = Chou Chuan Huing
A Taiwanese Singer/Songwriter who's written many well-knows songs for other singers as well as himself. Has recorded over a dozen hit albums since 1989 and is still popular and winning awards.
● F.I.R.
This huge Taiwanese band debuted in 2004 and is named after its three members, Faye Chan (Vocalist), Ian Chen (guitar, keyboard) and Real Huang (guitar, vocals). The name is also a backronym for "Fairyland in Reality" - the title of one of their albums.
FIR became famous after composing the theme tune to a popular Taiwan TV drama series.
Singer Faye Chan is said to have been university classmates with Taiwan diva Jolin Tsai.


● Elva Hsiao = Elva Siu
A Taiwanese dance-diva from Taipei who is one of Love China's most popular artists. She usually sings in Mandarin but can also sing in English has she studied abroad in Canada.
Elva Hsiao has released a dozen albums, her debut album has sold over a million copies alone.
 


 
● Hey Girl
Girl band from Taiwan. Originally comprising 9 members, the band was formed for a variety show.


 
● Valen Hsu - Xiu Xiu
One of Taiwan's top Singer-Songwriters.
Sings mainly in Mandarin and occasionally in Cantonese.
Has the nickname "Queen of Love Songs". A classically trained pianist from Taipei..
Valen Hsu has recorded over a dozen albums
Known for wispy, clear, strong vocals.
  ● Chen Hui Lin


 
● Amber Kuo = Guo Caijie
Relatively new to the Taiwan music scene! As well as a top vocalist, Amber plays piano and guitar.
 


 
● Lollipop
6-member boy band from Taiwan.
Formed in a TV talent show "Bang Bang Tang"


 
● Show Luo = Alan Luo
TV Host, Actor and Singer. Won his first singing award at age 7.
Luo has played concerts around China and collaborated with Jolin Tsai, Vivian Hsu and Jay Chou.
As well as hosting entertainment/variety shows, Show Luo has regularly appeared in commercials, including McDonalds and Pepsi.
 


 
● Nan Quan Mama
Taiwanese band comprising 4 singer-songwriters.
The group's name translates to "South Fist Mother" which is a Chinese expression used to mean having strength while being as gentle as a mother.
 


 
● Twins
Hong Kong Canto-Pop duo formed in 2001 comprising Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung.
Released 20 albums in less than a decade, initially appealing to young teens, but later to a wider audience throughout Hong Kong, China and most of Asia as their music matured.


 
● Will Pan
Pān Wěibó, Wilbur Pan or simply Will Pan. 
An Taiwanese singer born in West Virginia who moved to Taiwan aged 7.

As well as a popular Singer, Will Pan is also an
actor and TV Host.
S.H.E.
A Taiwanese girl-band which has recorded a dozen albums and achieved over 5 million sales. 
The group formed after a singing contest in 2,000 and has also starred in various drama series.


 
Shunza
Singer-Songwriter with a velvet voice. Originally from Beijing but now associated with Taiwan having worked with other top Taiwanese singers.
Has recorded in Mandarin, French, Japanese and English.
"Best Female Singer" and "Best Composer" at the 10th Golden Melody Awards.


 
● Sodagreen
Taiwanese indie Folk-Rock band led by unique singer Qing Feng.
Awarded "Best Band" in the 19th Golden Melody Awards, 2008.


 
● Jolin Tsai = Cai Yilin
A massively popular Taiwanese singer.  Countless chart-toppers across Asia, sell-out concerts and the best selling Taiwan album in 2006.
Sometimes called the Britney Spears of Asia.


 
● Yuki Hsu
A Taiwanese singer and actress known for her upbeat catchy hits!


 
● Cyndi Wang = Wang Junru
Mandarin Singer and Actress from Hsinchu, Taiwan. Family from Qingdou, Shandong province, China. Studied singing and dancing in Japan.


 
Lee Hom Wang
An American-born Taiwanese singer and film star who has sold over 15 million albums throughout Asia. Lee Hom Wang writes and composes his own songs and is a  Classically trained tenor.


 
Faith Yang
A rock musician and model from Taiwan.  She grew up in Sydney and is influenced by Australian music.  Faith Yang has had several hit albums in Taiwan and won the Taiwan Golden Music award for Best Female Performer in 2,000.


 
● Rainie Yang = Yang Chenglin
From Taipei. Began her singing career in the Taiwanese girl band '4 in Love'.
After the band split Rainie continued as an Actress and TV host.
Her debut album in 2005 sold about 1.5 million copies, as did its follow-up.
 

● Annie Yi = Wu Yingyi
Singer and actress from Taipei
